NOTICE OF BY-ELECTION

ELECTION OF PARISH COUNCILLORS

for the

OLD CATTON PARISH COUNCIL

1. An election is to be held of two Parish Councillors for the OLD CATTON Parish Council.

2. NOMINATION PAPERS
Nomination papers may be obtained from the PARISH COUNCIL or THE RETURNING OFFICER, THORPE LODGE, 1 YARMOUTH ROAD, THORPE ST ANDREW, NORWICH, NR7 0DU.

3. DELIVERY OF NOMINATION PAPERS
Nomination papers must be hand delivered during normal office hours (9 am – 5 pm) on any working day after the date of this notice, but not later than Friday 4 pm on 20th October 2017 to the RETURNING OFFICER, BROADLAND DISTRICT COUNCIL, THORPE LODGE, 1 YARMOUTH ROAD, THORPE ST ANDREW, NORWICH, NR7 0DU.

4. POLL
If the election is contested, the poll will take place on THURSDAY 16th NOVEMBER 2017.

5. APPLICATIONS TO REGISTER
Applications to register to vote must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by Tuesday 31 October 2017.

6. ABSENT VOTES
Applications, amendments or cancellations of postal votes must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at BROADLAND DISTRICT COUNCIL, THORPE LODGE 1 YARMOUTH ROAD, THORPE ST ANDREW by 5 p.m. on Wednesday 1st November 2017 if they are to be effective for this election.

Applications for a proxy vote must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by not later than 5.00 pm on Wednesday 8th November 2017. New applications to vote by emergency proxy on the grounds of physical incapacity or for work reasons must be received by not later than 5pm on Thursday 16th November 2017. The physical incapacity must have occurred after 5 pm on 8th November 2017. To apply on the grounds of work/service, the person must have become aware that they cannot go to the polling station in person after 5 pm on 8th November 2017.
